LAGUNA HILLS, CA, UNITED STATES, August 13, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- A global leader in ultra-low power, fully digital, event-based neuromorphic AI, today announced a partnership with Atlanta-based Orama.AOI, which has retrained and optimized BrainChip’s Akida models using its industrial inspection datasets.

This new collaboration demonstrates strong performance in defect detection and highlights Akida’s value as a production-ready AI platform that enables software partners to build, deploy and scale high-accuracy edge AI solutions.
Orama.AOI is an AI-powered automated optical inspection solution provider, with inspection use cases currently in tire production and semiconductor packaging systems. The AI visual inspection system market was valued at $36.84 billion in 2026 and could grow 23.5% annually to $85.24 billion by 2030, according to The Business Research Company.

By combining proprietary datasets with optimized models, the BrainChip/Orama.AOI collaboration delivers production-ready solutions for highly accurate, efficient industrial inspection at the edge. BrainChip also provides over-the-air model updates that continually improve performance without any hardware changes.

“This partnership illustrates BrainChip’s strategy to expand Akida into a scalable, ecosystem-driven edge AI platforms with growing commercial adoption,” said Steve Brightfield, BrainChip chief product officer. “When independent software vendors can build production-ready solutions on Akida, it strengthens module and chip sales, which leads to broader platform licensing, further partner expansion and long-term revenue growth.”

The partnership further highlights how BrainChip’s Akida1500 M.2 for fanless IPC platforms delivers measurable value to industrial customers by improving inspection accuracy, reducing system costs, and offering low-power operation, compared with GPU-based solutions. The partnership strengthens BrainChip’s position in fanless industrial PCs for edge AI solutions on the factory floor. Orama.AOI establishes a proven reference deployment that demonstrates Akida’s scalability and effectiveness in real-world use cases for machine vision applications.

“Our collaboration with BrainChip advances what is possible for AI-powered industrial inspection at the edge,” said L. Thomas Heiser, President and CEO of Heiser Industries. “Akida enables Orama.AOI to deploy high-performance, power-efficient inspection solutions built for the demanding conditions of modern manufacturing.”

Orama.AOI is a clear example of the growing Akida ecosystem, validating the Akida platform as a foundation for independent software vendors to build and deploy production-ready AI solutions.

About Orama.AOI
Orama.AOI, based in Lawrenceville, Ga., is a leader in the use of AI in optical inspection for manufacturing companies around the world. Originally founded in Taiwan in 2020, it merged with Heiser Partners in 2024. Heiser Partners is a wholly owned subsidiary of Heiser Industries Corporation, a diversified corporation in machine design, engineering, and manufacturing. Three things define their approach: a focus on quality improvement, advancement of automation, and accuracy of in-place AOI systems. This singular focus has earned them awards from a leading semiconductor company, the Taiwan national government, and certifications for improvement of quality in multiple sectors.

They are a direct supplier to major original equipment manufacturers, or OEMs, worldwide. And they continue the advancement of AI’s use via advanced training models that do not require coding.
